鹿兒島黑豚 is very famous in the whole Japan, 丸ㄧ黑豚 must be the biggest portion of tonkatsu I have ever ate in my life, pork is fatty and juicy, the chef shows me how to eat with all necessary sauce which are fruity sweet soy sauce, Japanese dijon mustard, final few drops of fresh lemon juice 😋 He is the cutest tonkatsu-san in my life! 鹿兒島黑豚丸ㄧ最高👏👍🇯🇵❤️

Looked high and low in Kagoshima the Kurobuta Pork paradise for a top quality Tonkatsu restaurant using quality black pork. This is the place - the owner has been plotting his trade of Tonkatsu for over 30 years. The pork itself is sourced locally and from the same farm. Every tonkatsu is freshly made as you order. None of the fancy tonkatsu dishes you get but all you need is the original dish as it was made from the beginning.Top quality hole in the wall is what makes this place a gem and a must visit when here in Kagoshima. Seriously friendly proprietor who is the Chef himself. The staff too are very friendly too.Family friendly too. A must visit for lunch or dinner.

Loved this place. Delicious tonkatsu with great friendly service. This place has cosy atmosphere and the chef is an artist of pork.

We had a wonderful tonketsu with Take (the owner) and his wife Mioki. Lovely people, splendid food in a large portion for a reasonable price.

This was probably my favorite culinary experience in Japan. Take really knows his stuff. The tonkatsu was delicious, and he even came round to show this clueless foreigner how best to eat it (slather in mustard, pour on some sauce, squirt some lemon juice). He made some small conversation and really made me feel welcome. What a great experience!

I spent quite a lot of time trying to decide which tonkatsu place to try in Kagoshima (known for "black big" pork). I chose this place because it seemed less touristy. It also happened to be right across the street from my hotel. The staff was super friendly. The owner was fun to talk to. The food was great and probably the biggest tonkatsu portion I have ever had in my life! I ordered the "hire katsu" which was really good, but everyone else seemed to order "rosu" (so that's probably the one to go for).Definitely check this place out if you're in town. And make sure you arrive on an empty stomach!

Absolutely delicious pork tonkatsu, and the service is very nice as well. The chef politely asked us if we wanted to change our order to something he recommended, and then came out to show us the ideal way to add sauce to the meal when eating it. He was extremely nice and had a conversation with us after as well. Very nice experience.

A true gem. The head chef is super nice to foreigners, speaks English and came over to teach me how to properly eat tonkatsu. The serving sizes are very generous, definitely worth the price. With a Hill set + a beer I almost rolled out of there! You should order the hill set if you want a single big slab of pork with a lot of fatty layering If you want something a little more lean go for the upper cut loin set. Both were awesome and I’d come here again in a heartbeat. I truly felt welcome. Great customer service!
